The Vermentino Winery of Monti celebrates its 50th anniversary
On 31 July 1956, thanks to the farsighted endeavour of 22 grapevine growers, the idea of setting up the Vermentino Winery became reality, with signature of its Articles of Association. The Winery was officially opened in June 1956 by Prime Minister Antonio Segni.
In 1996 Vermentino di Gallura was awarded the DOCG label, indicating Controlled and Guaranteed Place of Origin, a designation of great meaning and prestige, awarded to just a handful of Italian white wines. Over the years, the Winery has steadily expanded its business focusing on quality: the steadfast and skilled work of our 350 members, dedication of our human resources, the 500 hectares of vineyards in an especially generous land, participation by the community of Monti, assistance of suppliers, the collaboration of our clients, the many awards and recognitions given to the Winery and our wines from all over the world. On August 4-5, 2007, during the XIV local Festival, the Meeting will provide an update on results, which will be celebrated by a toast involving the thousands of people present.
